Flaky pastry, sweet cherry filling, and just the right amount of spooky fun. These are guaranteed to be the star of your Halloween party spread. And it`s the perfect way to use your frozen cherries or cherry preserves this spooky season.
🍒 Cherry Mummy Hand Pies 🥧
Ingredients
🥧 1 box puff pastry (thawed)
🍒 1 cup cherry pie filling (or cherry preserves)
🥚 1 egg (for egg wash)
🧂 2 tbsp sugar (for sprinkling)
👀 Candy eyes (found at most grocery/baking stores)
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Roll out puff pastry and cut into rectangles.
3️⃣ Spoon cherry filling into the center of half the rectangles.
4️⃣ Cut thin strips in the other half of rectangles to look like “mummy bandages.”
5️⃣ Place the cut pastry over the filled base and gently press edges to seal.
6️⃣ Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar, and bake 12-15 minutes until golden.
7️⃣ Once cooled slightly, add candy eyes to bring your mummies to life! 👀
