WSFC Board positions up for nomination...

WSFC BOARD POSITIONS UP FOR NOMINATION

YAKIMA, WA -- Several Commissioner positions to the seventeen-member Washington State Fruit Commission Board of Directors will be up for nomination during meetings slated for January 2009, according to B.J. Thurlby, President. Tentative nomination dates are as follows:

Jan. 8, 2009 Yakima Valley Growers-Shippers annual meeting, held at the Red Lion Yakima Center, Yakima, WA
WSFC board Dealer Position #14, District #2 (position
currently held by Peter Verbrugge)

Jan. 12, 2009 - Wenatchee Traffic Assn annual meeting, held at the Washington Apple Commission, WA
WSFC board Dealer Position #11, District #1 (position
currently held by Mike Wade)

Jan. 16, 2009 - Cherry Institute annual meeting, held at the Yakima Convention Center, Yakima, WA
WSFC board Producer Position #5, District #2 (position
currently held by Mark Roy), and WSFC board Producer Position #6, District #2 (position currently held by Mark Zirkle)

Jan. 22, 2009 - Stone Fruit Day annual meeting, held at the Wenatchee Convention Center, Wenatchee, WA
WSFC board Producer Position #2, District #1 (position
currently held by Kyle Mathison)

Commissioner positions to the WSFC board are each three year terms beginning May 2, 2009, and expiring May 1, 2012. Written nominations, signed by five persons qualified to vote for the said nominees, may be made five (5) days subsequent to said nomination meeting and shall be filed with said Commission at: 105 South 18th Street #205, Yakima, WA 98901, fax (509) 453-4880.
